His drug

His drug

A Poem by Lostangel

He watches her as she sips her bourbon,
Takes in the elegance of her sway
Looks into her eyes as she smiles.

Realizing her precense is intoxicating,
He finds himself slowly fading.
Reflecting on what's happening,
He drinks yet another drink.

He trembles with the need of want,
And embraces the fact that she's
Just a fleeting thought that would forever
Haunt his mind.

This poem captures nicely the idea of wanting something you can't have. It's short but very relevant and applicable to real life. I like how the poem first presents the persona's obsession and finishes with his sad fate. Well done.
