It was many moons ago I walked the grounds with you Upon the hollow earth where secrets lay beneath buried, were the moments that were born our legend Times when angels roamed and demons lurked upon shaken promises Shattered was the sun upon moments of walking on glass and tantalizing mysteries I walked there once and held your hand Do you remember me? I was the witch that was kept secret in the palace so that my life may be spared A kiss stolen by the garden when no one was looking neath a waning moon where we made love there against the stone cold walls of the palace You brought forth the hunger that lives inside Once bitten and cold breath upon my neck Waking to a new day when the sun no longer was my friend betrayed, but loving you betrayed, but needing you Breath no longer but memories they hold a place within me I was born of a long line of Witches I stood and watched in the shadows in the time of 1642 where they burned those innocent women and men in Salem I screamed silently and then I remembered you I walk in shadows dark and I live upon the feast of many Wondering where you are and what became of you Wandering the earth lonely and soulless Make a wish come true do you remember me? Or was I just a pleasure of sick fantasy once upon a waning moon where you took my breath and left me to live an eternity of watching many come and many go Alone with guilt Alone with shallow graves and promises in vain I search for you And when I find you A stake through your heart for damning me to this eternity of darkness I roam the night And I will find you Do you remember me? Because I remember you I live for the day that I see you again Revenge will be sweet Your karma awaits you and your karma is me
Wow, I can't believe I missed this one. I love a good tale woven into the fabric of a poem, and this one was full of magical imagery and emotion. Hautingly beautiful; direct, poignant and boldly original.
I stood and watched in the shadows in the time of 1642 where they burned those
innocent women and men in Salem
I screamed silently and then I remembered you -- totally transported me to 1642 with these lines...the journey was blindingly haunting.
A jilted lover...melancholy, dark, and foreboding, just the way I like 'em!
