Not Good Enough

Not Good Enough

A Poem by Mae Morales
"

It seems to me that I can't be what everyone wants or needs. It took me awhile that I'm not here to please everyone, only myself.

"

I'm sorry mother deary that I'm not what you want

Sorry I'm not what you thought

I'd ought to be

I'm me

Isn't that good enough for you?

You want perfect?

I try

I really do

Theres no pleasing you is there?

Can't you see?

I'll never be that girl

The girl you dreamed I'd be

I'm me

Love me for who I am

And don't hate me for who I'm not

I'm me, love me please.
