Your Eyes

Your Eyes

A Poem by Lost_And_Found

Let me tell you a thing or two about your eyes.
That could've made me believe so many lies
If I hadn't already refused
To get mentally abused

Merely covers, that's what they are
dangerously sparkling from afar
From time to time I shut my mind
Let them seduce me, make me blind

That's when I feel I've lost the fight
to this intoxicating sight
And I can't help but melt inside
For all of this I have to hide

Luckily I fail to memorize them clearly
So their mystery rests dearly
Forever in my soul...

Wording is nice, almost reminds me of a song in ways. Desire and care and love and pain are hard and wide topics to cover, and are done so in many different ways, I think you grappled a nice classic "I love you but you aren't good for me"

Thanks:)
'Toxic' feelings are more or less the inspiration for this poem, you're right.:)
It is a really deep piece. I was moved by your writing! The words of this poem are ringing with emotions that are really unmeasurable.
