Broken Nursery Rhyme

Broken Nursery Rhyme

A Poem by Hannah

Monster of the dark

Hiding out of sight.

Creeping in the corner

Waiting in the night.

Venom in your eyes

Poison in your breath

Always killing good things

Gloating in their death.

Always pushing victims

Till they are drained of life-

Always making them think of harm

Until they reach for the knife.

Words are spoken harshly

You use your weapons well.

To maim your victims easily

You don't even have to yell.

Whispered voices speak to me quietly

Words I cannot forget you said.

But wait, I tell myself softly

You're all inside my head.
