CHAPTER FIVE - THE UNEXPECTED... DISAPPEARANCE?!A Chapter by L.L. Lilyeveryone's not the same when they are sick, but that doesn't bother April at all...Johan coincidentally
finds April leaning against the lockers confronted by Billy Snider. He heard
rumors earlier that day that she had sent him a love letter and asked to meet
him in the middle of third period. Johan knew April wouldn’t do such a thing
and believed it as a rumor. “I love you April,” Billy
said taking a step forward face to face with April. April just stared at him
coldly, she wasn’t speechless she just chose not to speak at all as she watched
the man spill his guts out crossing her arms. “Could I go out with you?” he
muttered placing an arm beside her to preserve the distance between them. April looks away,
“I’m sorry but relationships don’t concern me,” she muttered this time meeting
his graze to see his reaction. Her words like her stare were cold and heartless;
Billy was intimidated no one had tried to reject him before. She was the first
to have stood up to him and rubbed it in his face, he had taken an interest in
her and her attitude won’t ruin his pride. “You’re just going
to reject me? Do you know who I am McDaniel’s?” “Billy Snider, you
can’t take no for an answer” she paused squinting as she observed him closely,
“You’re a mommy’s boy your hobby is to collect trophy women correct?” “How did you know
that?” “It’s obvious if you
observe closely.” “So why did you
accept my invitation?” “It’s not that I accepted
your invitation, it’s just that I knew I was your next target and tagged along
to get your hopes up.” “They were right,
you are a freak.” He hissed gripping her shoulders. “Hmph, you only found
that out now?” “It’s a shame
though, I’m pretty intimidated now and I really want to add you to my
collection.” This time Billy
grips both of her arms pinning April against the lockers behind her. April
stares at him with her usual cold eyes, she wasn’t one bit intimidated by him,
“Hey why aren’t you scared?” Billy stuttered, shaking as he still held her
hands. April leaned forward
to examine the handsome man right in front of her. “Let me guess, you’re pretty
lonely that your mommy’s paying most of her attention to her new boyfriend.
That’s why you’re looking for someone to play with.” “How did you know
that?” Billy let’s go of his grip stepping back cautiously as April stepped
forward “So I was right,” she whispered taking another big step to get close to
him. “Hmm, what other dirt do you got hidden under there?” she giggled, locking
her graze with his, “you have a fetish "” before she could finish, Billy pushes
her away having her fall and slam against the locker. “I get it, just shut up.” He retorted walking
away. “I wouldn’t want to date a freak anyway.” April smirked rubbing
the sweat off her forehead, “How troublesome.” She whispered grimacing as she
got up. She glanced back, “I know you’re there.” She growled signaling Johan
out. Johan stood away
from the pillar, revealing himself as he stepped towards her. “You really are
sharp.” He cooed leaning beside her. April shrugged
sighing she was tired after what had happened not too long ago. “Are you going
to confess like him as well? You should learn your lesson Gibson.” She scoffed,
dusting her uniform. “Actually I’ve never
would have thought he’d target someone as ugly as you McDaniel’s.” he joked
staring down at the small figure beside him. “He was just
desperate to complete his trophy. I really don’t understand why guys would want
an award for such fraudulent things.” “I’m glad you
rejected him.” “What’s with that
ugly tone of voice of yours, it’s so not like you Gibson.” “Well if I said
something like, I was jealous you’d think something is wrong.” April grinned,
tiptoeing to feel his forehead. “Just as I thought, you’re sick, rest at the
clinic, if it worsens go home and rest.” She smirked playfully pulling down her
eyelid and clicking her tongue as she walked away. Johan went after her hugging
her from behind. “Hey, what’s wrong with you?” she muttered flinching on the
spot. Johan rested his head on her shoulder “I love you April.”
He whispered his body becoming heavier as he rested on April. April turned to face him, flicking his
forehead with her fingers. “You really are sick it’s best if you go home.” “Maybe your right,
take me home.” Johan snapped taking her by her arm gripping it tightly so that
she won’t escape. “Hey, let go of me!”
she hissed struggling to get out of his hold. Johan suddenly sat on the floor of
the hallway tugging her down. Before she could complain any further, he had
rested his head on her shoulder having her blush. She glanced over to the man
besides her feeling his forehead, he looked feverish, his skin was boiling, and
his body was slightly shaking. “Hey, you’re burning
up.” She yelled shaking the unconscious man beside her, Johan had dozed off due
to fatigue, he was very heavy and she couldn’t help him up. They had sat on
that position until the bell had rung. No one had helped her and when she had
tried to call her father, he wasn’t answered his phone. She tried calling the
police station but they said he had left without a word. The disciplinary
officer caught them and had immediately sent them to the school clinic where
they gave Johan some painkillers and advised him to rest until they had
contacted his parents. April sat beside him with a worried look on her face,
her father wasn’t answering and she was worried that something bad might have happened.
The school nurse had told her that they would be contacting Johan’s mother but up
until now, she wasn’t picking up either. April had dozed off
by Johan’s bedside. Johan’s sudden shift of movement had woken her up, having April
jerk up and was now alert rubbing her eyes as she met his graze. Although he
was the patient, he was watching over her with a worried expression while she
was asleep. “Are you feeling
better?” she whispered with a hint of concern in her voice. Johan nodded tucking
the stray strand of her hair behind her ear. “I couldn’t contact my dad and
your mom, why is that?” she scowled questioningly. Johan shrugged, “Most of the time my mom doesn’t
pick up her phone.” “And my dad usually does
in case of an emergency.” “You think they are
together?” “Probably, but where
are they at a time like this?” April looked down on her phone to find that it
was late, “Unless you planned this.” She flashed the phone towards his face it
was a quarter past six. “I swear I didn’t
have anything to do with it.” He coughed flashing a look of innocence. “They couldn’t have
possibly abandoned their children.” April said resting her chin on her palm
supported by her elbow on the bed. The two exchanged glances with blank
expressions over their face. “No way, they can’t possibly do that!” They
alleged in unison. © 2013 L.L. LilyAuthor's Note
