This poem describes what the inner workings of a serial killer might be like. It was inspired by Dexter

By day I have

a soul.

A mask of emotions

To hide,

the fact that

I am truly

hallow inside.

By night I am free

to lurk in the dark,

feasting on the souls

of the soulful,

to make me feel

whole and alive.

I feel no anger.

I feel no joy.

I do not feel sadness.

No sorrow or fear.

I feel no love

for those who hold me dear.

I am a monster because

the world broke me,

to help me cope

with these deadly
