My Merlot

Drinking down a
Glass of merlot,
A bit too sharp from
My vineyard I know…
But I don't mind
Don't mind it- just now
Its rich, bold taste I
Welcome somehow-
As the flush of warmth
Spills into my cheeks
A touch from the inside
Is a touch… at least.
And I know somehow
Disappointments won't last
Like the bitter taste
Pouring forth
From this glass
A stem filled with Dom
Bubbling out
In a minute
Will taste all the sweeter
When merlot
Has been in it!
