Dormant Hostage

You dug our grave

While I worked to save

Us.

While I collapsed

You worked to change

Masks.

Into that hole

You trampled my soul

Down.

Now it appears

You have wiped your past

Clear.

Still not enough

You’re angry about

Love

How it failed you

Proving your beliefs

True.

I am hostage

Held sadly by time

Now.

Waiting, in pain

On flowers to bloom

Soon.

Waiting on time...especially when it means watching your child grow up in a cold war is painful.

Very well written and well expressed piece...time does heal things eventually, but the waiting IS the hardest part :)

Thank you for the review Brenda. Yes, it is sad, but there is light at the end of that tunnel indeed. We truly sow what we reap...and I am seeing that coming to fruition bit by bit. Those blooms, though under the earth, are being incubated by the sun, and will soon be poking their heads through the ground. ;)
