Can you find me in the darkness?

I'm in it—cloaked.

Its neither cold nor arid…just dark.

It is what it is

Embracing it

Is my task for now

I have danced in the light

I have lived and I have loved

I have swam in the refreshing waters

Under the mountain falls

I have basked in the sun

Watched my skin become tan

Seen the dew on the leaves

Made lover's footprints on the sand

You could find me then

Bathed in the light

But the map of my life

Has me living in the dark…for now

So be it—

Acceptance is

A part of living too.

I suppose I am at a point in my life where acceptance does not enter into my equations. Where I would not attempt to long for my past if it made me happy, only to be denied. Could I recreate magic with a time or person I've lost? Perhaps not. But I could most certainly seek that in others.
It does pull at the strings when a poem is written of such joy and happiness, only in the end to find darkness. Although maybe the only way to get through the dark is to consume, embrace it, take in all that it can teach use until it is no more.

I write as you, for cathartic release, although I strictly write of concepts and try to avoid writing out personal scenarios.

It would be nice again to be freed of that darkness and let us hope that happens for this character.

So be it.

Acceptance is a major part of living. I like the light touch you've used here.

I love that old saying, "What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger". I hope things are a little brighter for you now. Nicely done.
