Endless tension amidst the peace

A mystery in the mud.
 

"Behold"

Upon her-

Heavy darkness.

Still she pushes through.

Behold her beauty-

Behold her beauty.

Murk, mire,

Miles of sludge

Plodding up and out 

Through the depths

Of relentless pressure

Dancing with sabotage

No options given

In natural intuition

Driven inspiration.
 

Seeking a beginning

Continued perseverance

Heaving upwards-
 

(Distant whispers of promise still audible)

"Behold"

Gravity, reality

Weighing downward.
 

(Despite the amplified screams weakening the will.)

"Behold"

The mystery in the mud

A league of her own

None other dare compare

The beauty of the lotus.

"Behold the lotus."

I really like this a lot. I agree that you told her story very well and that you showed her staying power in each line. I like her as both a woman and performer. I liked the wording of this...a slight word play and rhyming scheme that worked well with this piece. This is a very well written poem.-Catrina

You have managed to tell a lifetime story here, as I am a great fan of Tina Turner and you use her ability to pick herself up out of the mudd and abuse she encountered for years and have woven a truely remarkable piece.
