The Sands Of Time

The Sands Of Time

A Poem by Jane Darby

The sands of time are like a clock,
From birth till death, they never stop,
Like the blooming of a flower,
As the time runs into hours.
The sands of time are like a breeze,
Like the swaying through the trees,
Like the rising of the sun,
When the day has just begun.
The sands of time are like the sea,
Like little waves rippling free,
Like the moon so bright and bold,
As the young turn into old.
The sands of time are like a dove,
They pass us by when your'e in love,
Like the days that come and go,
The sands of time will always flow.
