Simple WorldA Poem by Lorien BlackA song I wrote about simplicity and perfection, about obliviousness and awareness. It's about an ideal. It can be anything. The ideal person, principle, you name it.Relaxed, just killing my own time Everyone around, a smile would do just fine Did not expect that much, oblivious and numb Didn't think that I deserve, a resonating heart And then a glimpse of bright, a light into my sight I tried to catch it , it ran away from me As I was chasing it, a part of me awoke I saw it's brilliance, it turned me inside out How can I go back now, after I saw too much How can I lie to myself, hide one truth I know It hurts inside too much, perfection can't adapt In my boring, simple world Betrayed, my feelings left me alone Pure emptiness, better than struggling alone I miss emptiness, the thought of nothing at all But why does it hurt so much? Why does it burn? To let yourself be opened at last, to let yourself be born... And then a glimpse of bright, a light into my sight I tried to catch it , it ran away from me As I was chasing it, a part of me awoke I saw it's brilliance, it turned me inside out How can I go back now, after I saw too much How can I lie to myself, hide one truth I know It hurts inside too much, perfection can't adapt In my boring, simple world © 2011 Lorien Black |
