Perceptions

Perceptions

A Poem by Loribeth215

I can tell you that

your perceptions of me are false

I am a different person on a different day,

I fade and fly and fire.

In silence, there is not weakness.

In contemplation, there is not ignorance.

Like many, I stretch through my shadows every day.

I break my own rules, I grow out of my own expectations.

How can I be expected to shrink and simmer and fold to yours?

I can tell you that

I feel and fall and free myself

from all your darkened boxes.

One day, you'll have to swallow the truth,

how bitter and parched in your mouth.

Your perceptions of me are false.

This sounds like a very personal write and we may give an impression that is not the real. I often write for or about other people and many may have wrong impressions of me but I know who I am and where I am going and that's all
that really matters.
