When the madness creeps in

When the madness creeps in

A Poem by Lauren94

When the madness creeps in
It begins to creep beneath your skin.
You shiver and quiver, but you cannot shake it off.
Disorientated and feeling lost.
They'll be no sleep tonight; as you just turn and toss.
You lay motionless staring at the ceiling; another familiar feeling.
You wonder if one night the walls will eventually cave in.
It's such a lonely night, when the madness creeps in.
Your mind takes off like an electric train.
How many times have you now questioned if you're insane?
The madness and sadness combined plays cruel tricks on your mind.
And just when you believe It's ended; it only starts again.
Such a lonely night, when the madness creeps in.

I like the imagery of this poem. I can picture my mind races staring at the ceiling at night wondering if it will ever slow down and give me peace. Good stuff.
