Men are Like Zip-Lock bags (7 Syll. Poem)

Men are Like Zip-Lock bags (7 Syll. Poem)

A Poem by Lore
"

When fiIlled up with emotion they're so closed, always denying what they are feeling. Yet, you can see right through them!

"

It always starts off empty

But very soon it will fill

Fill with all kinds of content

And finished with the zipper

Smooth sliding like furnished wood

I hold it up to the light

And stare through its lucid self

To see it in its true form

Despite its sealed entrance

It holds too much and it’s strong

But there’s always a limit

It can’t be closed for too long

As over time it will rot

If too much for one sitting

I’ll take samples at a time

Watch its emotions spill out

Fluid red tomato sauce

And once bare, I’ll wash it clean

Then again I will fill it

Fill it with new emotions

The emotions are different

But it always starts off closed.

I listen to you talking

Rambling on about nonsense

Of how you met this woman

And how you met another

But yet through all of this talk

You stare only at the ground

And I know deep down inside

That truthfully and only

You care about one woman.

Just her and nobody else.

Yet here, you remain stoic

Ignoring my gaze…

Zippered.
