just about the Just

just about the Just

A Poem by Lore

Journalists who do not back down when challenging the wrongs of our society

The experienced poet who writes not only for himself but also for posterity

Those who would rather die thirsty, than buy bottled water
The mother who advises there is much more in life than beauty to her daughter
The teenager not afraid to say no to drugs in front of his peers
The frightened who help with other people’s fears
The humorist who pains from struggle but also finds it amusing
The boy in the playground who refuses to fight

When witnessing an elderly person struggling to bring out their garbage, those who would go out of their way to bring that person’s bin to the curb of their driveway for them.
When interacting with someone who is going through extreme personal struggles, those who would go home kneel down by their bed and pray for them

Young athletes who see nothing but progress in losing
Those who pocket their litter when there’s no garbage can in sight
Homosexuals alike who do not fear and are proud and say it loud
Guitarists who play first and foremost to unite a crowd
Those who cherish silence, when silence is around them
Those who don’t give up when struggle has found them
The optimist willing to help those without a voice
He who recognizes that there is always a choice
