We will be succeeded by trees.

Rulers of the Earth

I bet trees don’t believe in god,

But I think, I rather like that about them.

Their stationary strength,

Not bending to the word of scripture or science.

They stand stubborn and willful,

Growing to forever, amassing knowledge,

And still, they show a silent humility

Yielding only to the strongest of changing winds.

Perhaps trees are better suited

to be the rulers of the Earth.

I spoke this poem out loud and so now that it's public, I thought I'd publish it here. Wha'd'ya think?

They were the first intelligent life form long before humans and animals, it's all in my book 'This Green Earth'. I like this as its so different and direct, this is a very creative poem.

I bet you're right. What you did hear made me think hmmmm by the end of it and that means you have something good here. I like when something makes me think it over when I am finished reading it. I think this is my favorite of your poems
