101 in death we find peace

101 in death we find peace

A Chapter by Ray Nichols
"

a poem about death in the style of Edgar Allan Poe.

"
In shadows they creep,
Whispers of the silent night,
Life’s breath fades to dark.

Fleeting echoes call,
The raven’s solemn embrace,
Time’s cruel, cold caress.

Specters dance in gloom,
Beneath the waning moon’s gaze,
Dreams dissolve like mist.

A heart once so bold,
Now draped in sorrow’s mantle,
Cries lost in the void.

Graveyard winds lament,
Each tombstone a tale untold,
The past gently sighs.

Beneath the pale stars,
Life's tapestry unravels,
Thread by thread, we fade.

In the still of night,
Death’s sweet song begins to weave,
A lullaby soft.

Yet in the shadows,
Hope flickers like a candle,
Through darkness it gleams.

With each passing breath,
We dance on the edge of night,
Embrace the unknown.

For death is but sleep,
A doorway to realms unseen,
Where souls intertwine.

So let us not fear,
The whispering winds of fate,
In death, we find peace.
