Decline

Decline

A Poem by Lorame

See me

Standing on the roadway

This September’s eve

Wishing

It could be like last month

Before you had to leave

Wondering

If you think of me still

And when we walked this road that night

And wondering

If I am still yours

When I’ve so long not been in your sight

So now how can we move so backwards

As we go forward in time

And so now how can I feel empty

As I fill up this life of mine

And so now how are we struggling uphill

When all around there’s decline

Decline

Hear me

Calling out your name on

This September’s day

Wishing

You could really hear me

And hadn’t gone away

Wondering

If you think of me still

And how you’d kiss my lips so sweet

And wondering

If I am still yours

When I’m wishing we didn’t meet

Because tell me

How can we move so backwards

As we go forward in time

And tell me how can I feel empty

As I fill up this life of mine

And tell me how are we struggling uphill

When all around there’s decline

Decline

Come on back to me again

We weren’t really finished then

So now how can we move so backwards
As we go forward in time
And so now how can I feel empty
As I fill up this life of mine

I really enjoyed these words, There is some irony in it.
So well written.
