Feminism? Stop that.

A Poem by LoperForLife

Hey you,

I'm not your damsel in distress,

I'm not under any duress,

Would you stop trying to knock down my walls?

I purposely built those up tall,

You have no right to try to get to me,

I can set my own self free (thank you very much)

You try to fight, to steal, to plea,

Try to set fire to the sea.

Let me tell you, dear prince,

That doesn't work too well since

Trying to rescue something that doesn't want to be touched

Often ends with you hunched

Over after a swift kick to the gut.

Stop trying to act like you're saving me,

Let's be real, your majesty,

I've dealt with more than you ever will,

You're more like an oil spill

When you act like you're the best thing in the world,

I always want to hurl,

A bright light to my night?

A comfort to a fright?

A rhyme to my reason?

A change in the season?

What if I enjoy watching the stars?

What if I like being scarred?

What if I can figure myself out?

What if I like whiteouts?

So see, there's much you don't know,

So stop acting like a little clingy hoe,

I don't need you to run my life,

In fact, all you're doing is making more strife.

Stop pretending I need you to keep my life in order,

I'm pretty sure you're just a little hoarder,

Of power and superiority,

But let me tell you, sir royalty,

Next time you think I need you,

To help me think things through,

Go ahead and let me be,

Unless you want your car to be keyed.

Yes I'm serious,

Yes I'm true,

And yes, now I'm through.
