The moment we enter the world
A memory out of reach Our delicate digits curled And tiny voices screech Bright colors and odd shapes These images sinking in First soft caress and harsh scrapes Test driving our delicate skin Mother's love and Father's protection A finite shield taken for granted Sprayed by the world with infection Old and new perspectives transplanted Tawdry desires succumb to necessities Panaceas become second nature Mother Nature's rest at ease Until we see the rest of the glacier
