Another Teenage VictimA Poem by Leanne Estelle
They laugh, and she laughs too,
Never letting on how the words cut through - Like the knife she will later on use After a day of suffering abuse. She'd rather they pushed her to the ground Than to be told 'No one wants you around.' They tease her and say she's a freak, They judge her because she's unique. But they don't see that, they think it's just a laugh They don't see her crying in her red-stained bath. They don't hear her shouting how life is unfair, They don't feel her pain; they've never been there. She's there sobbing, shoving fingers down her throat, Shaking and breaking while she writes out a note While they're in their rooms - don't remember what they said, But because of what they've done, another girl's dead. © 2016 Leanne Estelle |
