A Picture is Not Support

A Picture is Not Support

A Poem by Leanne Estelle

A picture is not support; it's only temporary -
Like your support, only showing up after something scary.
But where is your support for the everyday child?
Hiding bruises of both the body and mind,
why is it only after tradegy that we are kind?
And where is your support
for the people that don't know who they are?
Support only showing after something's gone too far.
When a child is being bullied so bad they turn suicidal,
Why is it only after the fact you stop being idle?
Where is your support
when a teenager's lost their home?
When their family hates them and now they're on there own.
Where is your support
when you see us on a date?
And just holding hands will produce mass hate.
Where is your support
when we're crying every day?
Afraid to say two simple words 'I'm...'

A picture is not support
it just makes you feel better
ignoring the fact a thousand teens
will write a goodbye letter
because their love is wrong -
at least that's what they're taught.
When we're murdered
how can you think a picture is support?

My number one passion is writing; there is nothing I love more is this world. My pen is my best friend for it knows me better than I know myself sometimes, whenever I don't know how to express my feel.. more..
