Do They Know?A Poem by Leanne EstelleSomething quite personal to me and written in my old style.
Little do they know she's already past the brink,
Popping pills into her mouth and then she starts to drink. Little do they know that as she's sobbing in the bowl, Shoving fingers down her throat, they've already killed her soul. Little do they know that the taunts about her size, She shrugs off with a smile but it's still there in her eyes. Little do they know she knows one cut won't be enough, That one day she'll get through but the next will be too tough. Little do they know now that she's counting up to four, The numbers mark her wrist as blood drips to the floor. Little do they know she can't stop and soon approaching five, As each carve brings her closer to dead, rather than alive. Little do they know they can't take back what they've said; The words have already left their lips and now they're in her head. It's them that've made her feel this way and all told her to go, As she hears the silent siren sound, she wonders, will they know? © 2016 Leanne EstelleReviews
