The RavenA Poem by Leanne EstelleAn assignment for my creative writing class where I had to use a different rhyme scheme for each stanza.
My body - cold and still
Patiently sitting in a tree Ready and waiting for the kill How could she know her killer would be me? She wonders aimlessly - singing a sweet song Never thinking there could be something wrong When she turns I swoop down - vicious and strong "Don't worry my dear; this won't take long." I scratch and I claw Pecking at her eyes 'Til she meets her demise And falls to the floor. My hand-like claw, dripping blood As her body lay motionless in the mud Her fragile frame gathering dust Young and naive, she gave me her trust.
