Mighty mouse

For people who are tired of being walked all over.

I am a welcome mat
That's what people seem to think
But you know what? I've had enough
My boiling point has been brought up to the brink.

People think I'm a quiet mouse
So I won't give any lip
But guess what?
This mouse can give one nasty nip.

People like to kick me
But I tend to beat myself up
For not saying how I feel
And keeping my mouth shut.

I've had enough of being a good person
No, not anymore
When people kick me down
I'll get right back up and soar.

I've always been bad at saying what's on my mind, and people used to take advantage of my decision to act mute.
I'm getting better at it these days, and speaking out for myself makes me feel empowered. =]
