Another Goodbye

Another Goodbye

A Poem by Emily

I can’t handle another goodbye,
I wasn’t ready to loose my last grandpa,
An amazing man who was constantly reminding me how he took my father in as his own son,
A man full of endless smiles and stories,
Now it’s time for us to gather together in honor of your amazing life.
But I find myself wanting to runaway,
I can’t handle the fact that you’re no longer with us,
I try to turn my fears into something positive because I know that’s what you’d want,
You’d want me to remember the countless memories I have with you.
I know my dad greeted you at the gates of heaven,
And I sure hope you wrapped your arms around him and told him we’re getting through this life without him.
I hope you told him how hard the past six years have been for us but that we’ll never stop pushing through.
We’ll live this life to the fullest with both of you forever in our hearts.
