I see the pain in your eyes and all I want to do is take it away from you, 

A happy life is what you deserve my love

Whether with me by your side for the long haul or not, 

Your happiness is what matters to me, 

Your happiness makes me happy, I love you enough to be okay with the fact that I may not be the one. 

I may not be the woman who makes your dreams come true, 

I may not be the person you trust completely, but I trust you. 

I trust you to not hurt me, 

I trust you to keep my heart safe, 

You know the pain I've been through, 

the hurt people have caused me. 

I trust that if we don't work we will still be able to be best friends. 

This could last forever or this could be a trial run. 

But I can't keep fighting it, 

We have to see what this is. 

We have to explore what that kiss meant. 

There was a connection from the day I met you, 

We've both been through tragedy, 

We've both gone through major health scares in life. 

Lets see what this is....

it is one sad poem to read so emotional but i like the smooth flow of words and the clarity of the message

Talking of trials and tribulations in poetry, a difficult task but also making sure it relates back to the idea of selfless damn near unconditional love, impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed.
