Dream

Inspired by the Akuno Series

In a small town, somewhere in red country

 

Somewhere the town may gloriously spare

 

He and she are there, playing in pair

 

In the meadows, where they can be

 

 

 

Their love seems so long-lasting

 

Seems nothing will split them both

 

Like their love is written in oath

 

All in word, all with meaning

 

 

But what is this thing forming around her

 

A shadow, so dark and impure

 

Many have tried, but failed to cure

 

This shadow that forms on a lover

 

 

This shadow splits them both apart

 

And leaves him there in the meadow

 

And steals her away, this shadow

 

So makes him sad with a broken heart

 

 

Soon after he sees a ray of light

 

Maybe this is the thrust for him

 

But soon this light turned to dim

 

And all alone he lost his sight

 

 

He saw the shadow mingle with light

 

Wondering why the light betrays

 

With no hope for him remains
