War

War

A Poem by lonely zephyr
"

They celebrate their victory, but not a thought is given to their unfortunate enemies.

"
Whether we have rocks and sticks
Or weapons of mass destruction
"Make them eat the deep six!"
Warlords give the instruction

We scratch, claw, slash and smite
Just to hear the enemy say
"We need to withdraw!"
Victors of the day.

Returning home, we're greeted by citizens
Thanking us for defending their kingdom
Children smiling at us, their innocence
We don't seek dominion, but freedom

Celebrating, while toasting our mead
Singing songs under this tavern.
And all those we made bleed
Just corpses in a cavern..
