This was the first of my poems after the breakup.

Scars

Scars scars o painful scars

Just Like your scars

My scars will fade

Unlike your scars

My scars will never disappear

Scars of the body and

Scars of the heart hurt

The body may heal but

The heart will stay broken

You can stitch your scars

But My scars are permeant

Someone can heal my heart

But she’s so far away

I used to have her

But now she’s long gone

If she ever comes back

My heart may become whole

If she never comes back

My heart will stay shattered
