Lighthouse

I wrote this after a breakup that did not end well. The poem expresses my feelings when it happened.

Lighthouse

You are my shining light

You are my only beacon

I was lost at sea

Dark cold and gloomy sea

For centuries I was lost

Your light guided the way

It led me to you

You showed me beautiful light

Your light has gone out

Don’t make me go back

Not into the dark sea

I will not leave you

I will float right here

Please shine your bright light

Without a light life stops

Please lighthouse please shine again

I will not survive alone

No other lighthouse will suffice

I will freeze without you

Unless you shine your light
