I'm sorry that I could not do more,
either here nor distant shore,
all I can do is pray,
so I pray for a better day,
so much death and so much pain,
will our world ever smile again?
all we can do is struggle and cope,
give our strength for others to hope,
so I pray for a better day,
when happieness and sunshine are here to stay,
for a day to stop the tears,
and a day when we can live without fear,
a gift of hope, a helping hand,
to lift sad spirits and help them stand,
the smallest of gifts that I could find,
a Light in the Darkness
a Heart in Kind...

This was beautiful. Not only because you expressed vulnerability but because you offered solutions to get through the problems that you just happened to be facing. The flow is very good and I very much enjoyed the rhythm of the rhymes.

It seems like a rough draft but it is a good start. All the rhymes fit with one another. in one line I think it is supposed to be 'give our [strength] for others to hope" and if I may make a suggestion, the last line might fit better as "a Heart [so] kind"Other than that it is a truly awesome poem. Something it seems I would have done.

Reality that is really true to today and this is a fine example how in some hearts it can ignite some fierce hope like your beautiful poem.. the smallest gifts can be the brightest lights in the darkness I think!

Will our world smile again.. I hope so.. I believe it will! Helping hands I think have always been around.. will continue to be as well.. it comes in different forms. I love what you have written here.. it shows that mistakes can be made and lessons learned.. after all People are People. This is a wonderful prayer for better days.. it has sadness but real inspiration for a peaceful change.. AWESOME!
