a Heartbeat Away

I know it meant alot to me because it hurt so much to lose,
I feel the empty surrounding,closing in all around me,
sitting in this darkness I am totally...alone,silent,empty,
void of feelings I press on,we know we must not give up,
in this silence my footsteps are meaningless,hollow,
a faint echo reminds me that there used to be something in here,
I know it meant alot to me because it hurt so much to lose,
my hope lies between my heartbeats,
hollow footsteps echo in my ears,but I press on,
I know I must never give up,never give in,I press on...
life was long but the days are getting shorter,
my days are clouded and foggy,
the sun dosen't shine quite as bright anymore,
but the birds on the breeze remind me...

Wow! I can't believe this poem does not have any reviews, considering how absolutely amazing it is! This piece is full of so much pain, yet of so much hope and of strength. It reminds me of losing my happiness, but still carrying on, even though I lost what meant most to me. You've shared some great words and emotions here, and I really enjoyed reading this.
