Just a Smile

 

I guess I'll give to you a secret about a legend told,
given to us as children,passed along as we grow old...
Please listen to this story as I softly speak,
it begins with the morning sun,
grown behind the mountain's peak...

High up in the mountains,way above the trees,
is a beauty so grand, that it'll bring you to your knees...
Laid out before you,with the world at your feet,
You only need to smile,to make your life so sweet...

Then life starts getting harder,but the body's growing stronger,
you can't get through,the more you do,the days just getting longer...
After awhile you begin to smile,about the one you dream of,
You've got it made,but the smile fades,was it just a dream, Love?

Waking in a cold sweat,shaken from the fears,
thoughts to last,ghosts of the past,am I the only one here?,
I'm not alone,you're safe at home,I'm shaking off the tears
hold me close,hold me tight,I'm shaking off the fears...

Somewhere in the back of my mind, there is a quote I really need to find,
giving me a rope,helping me to cope,to keep my heart in kind...
"Laid out before you,with the world at your feet,
 You only need to smile,to make your life so sweet"...

With a simple smile,you open doors and many paths,
with a dimpled smile you steal their thunder, steal their wraths...
forget the ifs,the ands or buts,they're the one who's going nuts,
forget the fakers they're just takers,but they havent got the guts...

A smile is a story,if you want the truth, not just more  lies,
a smile gives you glory,because you smile with your eyes...
if it's good or bad,happy or sad,it's your eyes that cannot  lie,
you got the blues,or some other news,it's the eyes that cannot deny...

When you have a dream of,the special one that you love,
a smile will let them know what you're thinking of...
