Would I Tell? Or Run?

Would I Tell? Or Run?

A Poem by butterflyy

Tears running down my face

My body trembling with fear

I hear sirens, but do not attempt to stop or talk.

My brain says,"Run and tell."

But my body says,"Walk and be quiet."

I don't listen and I

Freeze, Stop. Hault!

So many thoughts running through my head I can't think.

I listen to my brain, but soon as I start to run my body aches.

So I listen to my body

But something is pulling me back

I can't see because so many tears are blurring my vision

I'm scared so I use my extra hand to wipe my tears, but it take so long because it won't stop.

That something was an angel

When I come to reality I'm telling the police everything that happened to me.

The last words he said was," Miss you saved a person's life."

This is an excellent poem.

You catch the reader`s interest and hold the
reader, amplifying the tension to the end.

You appear to have the ability to create a situation
then play the theme , carrying the reader deep in
until the end.

Very good writing.

I loved it. I think even if you don't like poetry, you still have the gift to write it. Keep on writing, bring your words to life. ☺

Hi Butterflyy,

That was decent, especially since you typically don't write poetry.. It's in that moment of disconnect that we realize we can save someone no matter how scared or hesitant we may be. You might want to spell check your work before you put it out there, that would be the only advice I'd have for you at this time, other than that just keep writing!!
