That Damn Exam

That Damn Exam

A Poem by Lola_Bee

The brain accepts knowledge in depth

Yet when faced in that particular hour

One blanks out and cannot contain that which is

thought to be embedded in memory, now just cower

Study study oh an over crammed mind

Feeling of overwhelming uncontrollable emotion

Words and sentences too long to store, I leave behind

Anxiety of failing, an uncanny notion

Eyes red with sleepless nights

Blood intoxicated with caffeine

Fingers exhausted with notes we fight

All we want is a bit of serene

A students life is seeking to secure

That piece of paper more precious than gold

which gives so many the opportunity to explore

To make parents proud, teachers applaud and your path unfold

Reaching one’s goal is not as easy as they make it seem

Hard work, dedication is not a trait we are born with

Dear Everyone “Patience and understanding is what we need”

Maybe with that it’s easier for us to succeed
