The MapA Poem by Shaun GurminI used to live in a world of law and logic. All was clear, all was understood, and all that remained was to follow my map.
Yet, along my journey, I came across the unexpected. Hidden away, my mystery awaited - you.
I used to live in a world of law and logic. All was clear, all was understood, and all that remained was to follow my map.
My map was incomplete. There existed a gap, an enormous gap, a gap as large as the map itself. Delicately I place you in the centre of my map, perfectly you sit there - my missing piece.
I used to live in a world of law and logic. All was clear, all was understood, and all that remained was to follow my map.
But a map isn’t to be followed, it’s to be explored. Nor is a world to be scrutinised, but experienced. I don’t live in a world of law and logic, finding you is proof enough. The blindness of being lost revealed that which was hidden - the spontaneity, the excitement, the adventure.
I used to live in a world of law and logic. Now, as the map flutters to the ground, we walk on - into the unknown, into the adventure. © 2018 Shaun GurminReviews
