Void

Void

A Poem by Shaun Gurmin

My beauty, what is your name? Your skin, it shimmers, with eyes so dark. You move with grace: mesmerising, how I cannot take my eyes away.

I step closer, only to fall further away.

Cloaked in mystery, your timeless footsteps echo into eternity.

I pursue with ever-growing frenzy: beckoned by the divine, seduced by the aethereal - to touch that which is, and is so much more.

In delirium, I stretch out, longing to experience;
In delirium, I stretch out, longing to know;
At last, I stretch out, and feel the cold, dark void.

I liked this stanza the best! Your poem has a somewhat haunting quality to it which I enjoyed very much. A deep write, well penned 👍

I admire the fact that you teach English. It's a subject I stumbled through until I learned that I actually loved writing compositions. My hat is off to you for your dedication!
