Dakota

A Poem by Loganium

   There you were, with me

in a land far away

far from our cities

far from today

I remember that bus ride

you had your nose in a book

how we finally said hi

and you gave me that look

Racing through fields

leaving a days work behind

it seemed so perfect to me

it’s framed in my mind

And when we sat on the beach

with sand in our toes

and shared with eachother

our triumphs and woes

And how I waved goodbye

and left that note for you

on that long bus ride home

I hoped you missed me too

Nice poem. I like the opening stanza a lot.

I like the simple straight forward rhythm and language, it makes for an easy, well flowing read that tells a story!

Just an editing suggestion for you... The second last line of the second last verse, there is a space missing between each and other.
