Omen

Omen

A Poem by Loganium

smoke clings to the sky

the crows shreik as they pass

a murder

and the blood is still fresh

the iron snakes hiss

and cast their hellish glow

upon the cobbled stone

as a shadowy figure slithers past

the eye of night

is fully opened

watching

with an unyielding gaze

the wind howls

like a wolf pack

descending upon the carcass

devouring it

The grating of steel

all is dark now

gone is the unblinking stare

only the flow of water remains
