The Cold

The Cold

A Poem by Everchanging Disaster

The air around him is stiff, still

not one hair dancing,

even his eyes seem like they are painted

he is frozen

cold and lifeless within my stare.

I am frozen

bound and incased within my convictions.

I cannot lie-

I cannot say I care while I look at him now,

because his heart is just as dead-

as the look on his face

the same one that haunts my regrets.

Nice Lo...
As always your language screams images at us and we try to configure them the best we can but we could never express our images like you show your own. Your writing shows us not just a "stiff still" being, but a relationship that has grown stiff and still and perhaps a feeling within yourself? Great work, girl...thank you for sharing.
