A teaspoon of happiness...A Poem by Everchanging DisasterIt never ceases to amaze me, How people seem to be unappreciative of all they have. People equate happiness as being a by-product Of some wonderful life changing event, Like buying a new car or getting a promotion. But happiness is so much more than that. Life changing, earth shattering events Seldom come around but on the other hand, We are presented with significantly smaller opportunities everyday. A perfect cup of coffee, An encouraging smile; Can also inspire feelings of happiness, But in the great scheme of things, When we weigh the good and bad in our lives, Small things seem to be lost in the background. When deciding whether or not our life has been a pleasant one, We tend to include all of our short comings. I've found that people unknowingly answer the question "How are you doing" with negative comments, Even when the amount of wonderful things in their life at the moment are abundant. So take your time one day, And count every last beautiful, wonderful, awe-inspiring event As your day unfolds and see if you don't change your outlook on life, At least a little. © 2008 Everchanging DisasterAuthor's Note
