EXTENSION OR CONSTIPATION?

 

Another good speech,

Lord, we beseech

Then anticipation

Now constipation

Away from our border

In short order

Author’s preface

Or reader’s menace?

12^th November

A day to remember

Fate fear hurls

As time curls

Sailing past

Yet not the last

Elusive

But massive

A frenzy to extend

Another bout to amend

High hopes

More ropes

Suppliant prayers

Against slayers

No room for sentiments

Just a roll of impediments

A statesman’s rush

As a girl would blush

At the stroke of a pen

Peace is in a den

No criteria

Just hysteria

Power is lust

Just as summer is dust

Home comes the message

Like a rite of passage

For a country so new

Many want to chew

Bones rattle

As men battle

For greed

At a speed

Light years away

Let’s wait for another day
