Stand Aloof!A Poem by Joseph EluzaiDarfur and the 'homicide' there......Stand
aloof, not under our roof, you genocidaires! Our withered hands are groping for the questionnairesTo scatter your bloodthirsty dawn acrossWithout thought or remorseStand aloof, champion of crimes frozenIn the midst of time forgottenIn your wild ride across haunting criesOf children and their mothers under the skiesWho among us can outpace you to the cowshed of mongersSaddled on gingers?Bent on bringing dignity to its kneesTo meet the rising feesOf your heartless aggression void of contemplationAnd your bloody mission stripped of notionRolling back humanityIn the name of insanityDarfur is just a bout of your tattoosIn a world that claims taboosShame is too small a word for your sinIf the world still cares about the color of your victim’s skinOutrage is a big jokeBecause you have friends who still poke!Rwanda was the heap of your shavingsDarfur will be the tip of your cravingsWho will ever questionWhen we have never learnt a lesson?Seasoned genocidaires,Or established millionaires? The line simply blurs;Just as sure as a cat purrs© 2013 Joseph Eluzai |
