An Image to Damage

An Image to Damage

A Poem by Joseph Eluzai
"

All about our image, if any.

"

An image to damage

In an age to engage

In this adage

So dage

That no page

Can encourage

Pilgrimage into the storage

Of vintage

In search of the mirage

For an empty garage

Better a cage than the rage

Fuming in marriage

Our carriage into carnage

One big drainage;

Of courage

To engulf the message

Of paying our homage

To our father’s linkage

That we may bandage

The leakage

Of human patronage

In such days of pillage

That demands our coverage

Without stoppage

So that we can manage

To wage the war of forage

For tomorrow’s mileage

Indeed an image to damage!
