The Nightmare Room

The Nightmare Room

A Poem by H

"

I come and go

Looking for joy

Leaving in sorrow

Each time seeking

Ever wretchedly

For the answers

And the Devil

Wispers in my ear

Oblivion, Oblivion

Laying in the dark

Wrestling with demons

I call my own

How much noise

One little brain

Can make in silence

Words of hope

Are faint as ghosts

Wisps of color in black

Louder now

The Devil says

Oblivion, Oblivion

Do I stay

And hear this bluster

Turning over in my mind?

Weak with torpor

Sweat runs down

Will the nightmare pass?

Body paralized in fear

waiting out

the hellish bidding

Now the Devil

Screams with rage

OBLIVION, OBLIVION

THE ANSWERS LIE

IN OBLIVION!

Shards of sunrise

Beeming in

Answer weak prayers

Sanity saved

By the bright

Golden sun

I sigh, relieved

The Nightmare didn't catch me

At least not this time

The Devil rarely will lose. Best to stay in the light if he is looking for you. I like this story. When the Devil whisper secrets in your ears. Best to run and pray for the Golden sun. A excellent poem. I like it all.
