Miles and Minutes

Miles and Minutes

A Poem by H
"

Saint Paul, MN

"

i keep running

farther and farther

away from myself

I keep looking

hoping and praying

for peace

I keep wishing

harder and harder

to find my smile

I'm looking for a place

to be free

and loved

I'm looking everywhere

but the miles

they don't matter

They clear my head

but only for a minute

if even that

Because no matter

How far I run

There I am

It ain't easy to hide from demons. Best to face them and allow the bad thing to fade away. Ain't easy for anyone. Need a lot of hope and luck to have a good life. A powerful poem. Sometime we need to learn the bad things to appreciate the good days. A excellent poem.

there is a good message in here to acknowledge the last lines, "Because no matter how far i run there i am." Sounds like you're beginning to make peace with and love yourself with all of your faults and futures :)

we're made up of so much more than the good things and happier memories .. things we dont want in our lives but Are, none the less, Part of our lives .. embracing the last lines written here, i think, is an amazing realization to becoming whole again.

very nicely expressed .. love this :)
