Shades of GrayA Poem by HThe smoke that fills my lungs Brings a sense of calming To me I feel trapped Until I am freed like the wisps of smoke Around me rise up to the sky The sky we have all touched Once or twice
Glowing beyond me lights brighten If I try hard enough I will escape Into the surrounding brightness Why is the world suck a tangled mess? A ball of twine knotted too much Is there any hope of redemtion?
I lay awake staring at the dark As hard as I try I cannot let it consume me In a place stuck between light and dark I look for an opening in the binding walls The wind calls my name Is it wispering friend or foe?
Of all the hearts falling on the floor Mine has fallen some time ago Will someone find and mend it? Or will it be stepped on all over again? From ashes to ashes And dust to dust The walls around me crumble
I feel the ocean at my feet This illusion is too much to handle These lies I've started believing
